Anne Whitley

Founder & Yoga Teacher

Quite simply, I am continually amazed at the power of yoga. I have practised yoga since 1994 and through all life’s ups and downs, yoga continues to strengthen and heal me.

I began the studio in 2007 after hurting my back I was advised to do regular Pilates or yoga.   Since then the studio has grown, offering a range of classes.   Many of our original members are still with us and six of our members have gone on to do yoga teacher training courses.

I qualified as a teacher in 2018 and am a member of Yoga Alliance.  I love sharing the benefits of yoga and watch people develop and grow in confidence.

Like all the instructors at Boundes Studio we continue to learn and develop.  I have been lucky to have trained and worked with wise, wonderful teachers.  A highlight for me was travelling to India to further my study of the philosophy and foundations of Yoga.

Pilates Teacher

I began practising Pilates over 20 years ago.  Pilates was completely different to any form of exercise I had experienced.

I am passionate about Pilates, it is part of me and has changed my life in many ways.  In 2005 I trained with the Michael King’s Pilates Institute in London and gained my mat work Certificate.  Since qualifying I have attended further courses, lectures and workshops to further my knowledge and understanding.  I am CIMSPA registered (Chartered Institute for the Management of Sport and Physical Activity) and fully insured.

I teach mat based and small equipment Pilates classes for all levels, from beginners to advanced.

Louise Ballantine

Pilates & Yoga Teacher

I’m a yoga and Pilates teacher with a passion for helping people lead healthier lives. I am qualified in both disciplines and have been teaching Pilates since 2007 and yoga since 2012 and I am experienced in teaching Iyengar alignment-based yoga.

My classes are welcoming and friendly, with a focus on everyone feel comfortable and included.  During mat work in Pilates I like to use flex bands, fitness circles, small stability balls and rollers to make exercises more varied, accessible or challenging.

I’ve been inspired by many amazing teachers, and I strive to pass on my love of the many benefits of yoga and Pilates to all my clients.  Whether you're a beginner or experienced practitioner, I will help you feel refreshed, nourished, and balanced after every class.

Qigong Teacher

Qigong, pronounced ‘Chee Gong’ and sometimes spelled Chi Kung, is the practice of working with our body's natural life force, Qi, or Chi and the energy of the natural world to optimize our own energy levels, mitigate stress and improve our physical and mental health.

Sometimes described as Chinese Yoga it originates from a blend of Ancient Daoist, Buddhist, and Shamanistic culture and uses gentle yet powerful meditative exercises that bring harmony and balance to body and mind.

Unlike Tai Chi, which is a type of Qigong, it comprises sequences of simple repetitive movements and postures that can be done by anyone, regardless of age or physical ability and is a beautiful practice for longevity, well-being, and personal transformation.

Yoga Teacher

My interest in yoga began over a decade ago.  But my real passion, and true understanding of the incredible benefits yoga brings, began in 2020, during lockdown.  During this time, a regular Yoga practice transformed my life, physically, mentally and emotionally.  So much so that I studied to become a practitioner in order to share all the wonderful benefits that I continue to enjoy.

My classes offer a gentle approach to yoga focusing on breathwork, soft movement, somatics (meaning our body-mind connection) and meditation.  There is no expectation of achieving perfect poses – my practice is more about exploring the body-mind connection in a calm, relaxed way, giving you tools to help you better manage life’s ups and downs.  My aim is to leave you relaxed, calm and equipped with techniques that can be easily practiced in day to day life.
